About the role

Reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance Infrastructure you will be part of a team responsible for the maintenance of the mine infrastructure assets. You will be expected to liaise closely with all Departments across the mine site to manage the infrastructure maintenance work as it impacts in their areas.

Your responsibilities:

You (in conjunction with the Infrastructure leadership team) will manage a contractor workforce to perform the maintenance activities.

Your responsibilities will cover all the Goonyella Riverside Mine Infrastructure assets that are maintained by the Maintenance Infrastructure department, this includes: public access private roads, industrial area roads, carparks, structures, upkeep of dams across site, drain desilting, buildings, fire systems, electrical, plumbing, drainage, fuel farms, water distribution, water and sewage treatment plants, OH cranes, lifting equipment etc and other assets as directed. The maintenance activities on the infrastructure assets are a shared responsibility across the infrastructure maintenance team.

You will manage a contractor workforce to execute the maintenance activities

Furthermore, you will be responsible for:

Contract and contractor management

Liaising and working with the Environmental Department and helping to manage small projects across site
Working with the planning group to develop maintenance plans and schedules across the Infrastructure assets
Ensuring adherence to the work management processes and principals for all maintenance activities
Managing the day to day maintenance activities of infrastructure
Working as a team player and providing ongoing support to senior team members across a broad range of maintenance activities
Document control for all work activities performed (1sap)

About you

The successful candidate will have:

An overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development
Varied experience across aspects of Infrastructure assets: ie civil, building, electrical, maintenance etc
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence effectively;
Exceptional communication skills (both written & verbal) to share concepts and plans with others throughout the organization;
The ability to facilitate diverse groups;
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills,
A high level or organisational capability
A high level of computer literacy
A degree in Engineering, relevant trade background or equivalent maintenance experience background will be highly regarded
Experience with Vulcan (or equivalent) design/reserving skills while not essential will be highly regarded.
Experience with SAP/1SAP while not essential will be highly regarded

The successful applicant will have an understanding of the BHP Billiton governance, risk management and compliance framework or similar in adjacent industries, such as oil and gas. Your success will be heavily influenced by your strong communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with your ability to identify issues before they arise
